But I can't draw.

Let me tell you: neither can I.

Creating visuals isn't about being good at drawing or having artistic skill. We're not learning to make a work of art. We're learning to make art that works, using simple shapes and visual cues to communicate an idea.

I don't come from an art or design background. I learned this through practice, trying every day to make visuals out of whatever I read, saw, listened to, or thought about. The process I teach comes from exactly that: figuring it out as someone who had no artistic background.

We aren't learning to make art for a gallery. We're learning how to turn what's in your head or heart into visuals that communicate and connect.

Creativity and fear travel together

Three things you'll walk away with

You'll leave with more than a folder of visuals.

01

A repeatable process

Not a one-off trick that only works once. A step-by-step way to turn what you see, think, feel, or listen to into a visual — one you can reuse for the rest of your life.

02

A visual portfolio

A body of original visuals you made yourself, from books, thoughts, feelings, and whatever else you needed to work through. Something you can look back on the next time you doubt you're “a visual person.”

03

A new habit of noticing

At first, it's like learning a new language: translating what you see and feel into visuals. Then one day, you're just thinking that way — in meetings, in your notes, in conversations, long after the cohort ends.

But where would I actually use this?

It goes wherever your thinking goes.

Once the skill sticks, it shows up everywhere you're trying to make sense of something.

Socials & newsletters

Create a visual for the idea you're sharing, instead of a stock photo.

Life experience holds a hidden lesson

Meetings & workshops

Sketch the whiteboard moment instead of typing another bullet list.

Two figures at a whiteboard sketching an idea together instead of typing notes

Presentations & pitches

Make the one slide people actually remember afterward.

This matters as much as this

Reading & learning

Remember what you read instead of losing it a week later.

A book with its idea drawn out beside it, so the lesson sticks

Everyday conversations

Explain a complicated idea to a friend, using a visual, in under a minute.

Two people talking, one explaining an idea with a quick sketch between them

Journaling & reflection

Process a hard feeling on paper when words alone don't get you there.

Meet your facilitator

Hi, I'm Rachna. I teach visual thinking, and I can't really draw.

Rachna, smiling, surrounded by handwritten notes: no art degree, never went to design school, created 400+ visuals, a learner at heart, believes everyone is creative, enjoys a slow life, loves reading books, long morning walks, scribbles everywhere

I don't have a design degree. I didn't go to art school. I started sketching ideas from books in 2021 because I wanted to remember what I read.

Before that, I had already discovered that drawing could help me express things words couldn't. Books just gave me a new place to practise. Slowly, turning words into tiny illustrations became a way of thinking, learning, and making sense of things.

These days, I spend most of my time doing exactly that. When I'm not creating visuals, you'll probably find me reading, wandering cities on foot, writing my illustrated newsletter, A Little Pause, crocheting, making abstract handmade vases, or dreaming about living in a tiny movable home.

I'm not here to turn you into an artist. I want to show you another way to express yourself: to make your thoughts clearer, connect with others more deeply, explain ideas more simply, and give shape to what's abstract in your head.

Before you go

Here's why I built this.

I remember a time when getting out of bed felt impossible, and words failed me completely. One morning, I found a visual note from my brother on my desk: a calm, meditative figure with the words “You have everything you need inside you.” I picked up a pencil and drew what I was feeling. I wasn't trying to make art. I was simply trying to make sense.

Those visuals became my pep-talks to myself, small reminders I made for no one but me. Slowly, they became a bridge to strangers who felt the same way. I started reading books on grief, anxiety, and how our minds work, turning what I learned into visuals, and sharing them with people who needed that same support.

I never set out to learn visual thinking to get through a hard time. It just happened, and it took me further than words ever could. That's why teaching this feels so meaningful to me now. I start cohorts with a book instead of raw feelings, since that's an easier place for most people to begin, and a shared book means everyone can understand and give each other feedback.

I've never shared this story publicly before, but I'd rather connect with you through it than pitch you a bootcamp.

FAQ

I can’t draw. Is this really for me?

Yes. If you can draw a circle, a square, and a line, you have everything you need. This is about visual thinking, not artistic drawing. We’re making concept sketches, not gallery art. Session 1 covers every basic you need.

How much time do I need between sessions?

I recommend 4–5 hours a week; 30 minutes a day.

Will you teach me how to draw specific visuals for my own book or idea?

No. I teach the framework and share the design process I follow in the very first session. Then you create your own visuals, and I give you feedback on what you create, like a writing workshop. I’m not writing your content for you, I’m helping you improve your own work.

Can I use digital tools like an iPad or Procreate?

I’d leave that choice to you, but I’d still recommend pencil and paper only for this bootcamp. It removes the tool-learning curve and keeps everyone focused on ideas, not software. Once you’ve built the thinking process, you can apply it to any tool later.

I have no ideas for visuals. Where do I start?

I’ll suggest one common book for the whole cohort, so you always have something to draw from.

For sessions 1 and 2, I suggest using this shared book as a starting point. It gives everyone a common reference and makes it easier to follow your thinking and give useful feedback. It’s a suggestion, not a requirement.

From session 3, you can continue with the book or find inspiration anywhere else, such as a podcast, a conversation, a feeling, or anything that catches your attention.

Do I get recordings?

I suggest joining live, since that’s where the real value is. I do provide recordings for a limited time.

Will other people see my work?

Yes. This is a feedback-based workshop. You’ll share your visuals with the cohort each week. We’re all learning here, together.

Is there a refund policy?

You can get a refund up to 10 days before the bootcamp starts. No refunds after that, since this is a small cohort, and your spot could have gone to someone else.

Will you run this cohort again?

I’m intentionally running just one live cohort this year. If you’re on the fence, this October is the version to join. I can’t promise the timing, format, or price will be the same next time.

If I choose Bootcamp + 1:1 Coaching, when do the one-on-one sessions happen?

You’ll schedule your four one-on-one sessions within 30 to 45 days after the bootcamp ends, based on both our availability. I’ll personally email you after the cohort to set up the timing.

Don't just think it.
Draw it out loud.
